The new water system is now ready for residents to hook up. If you have an approved water application, you can contact Paul Barrett, Town of Batavia Water Department at 356-4900. If you have not completed a water service application, you can click on the water/sewer application above and submit to the Town of Batavia.

December 23, 2020
The current projected date that you can hook up to the new water system is January 18, 2021

  • Control and communication work will be completed by December 24, 2020. The Town of Batavia operators will then operate the system in automatic mode, testing the system.
  • If the automatic mode testing does not identify any problems with the system, the last pump replacement at the Dodgeson Road Pump Station will take place on January 4th or 5th.
  • The entire system will then go through additional testing until January 15th. If that testing does not identify any problems with the system, the system will be available for customers to hook up starting January 18, 2021.

Approval for water district 6 obtained.

On June 25th Dave DiMatteo, Town attorney, and Steve Mountain, Town engineer, held a training session for the petition carriers for Water District #6. The petition carriers will be contacting Water District #6 residents to allow those in favor of forming the water district to sign the petition during the next two weeks.

June 1, 2020
The next step in the formation of water district #6 is to take a petition door to door to have residents of the water district sign if they are in favor of forming the district. Those opposed do not sign the petition. We will need at least 50% of resident property owners assessed valuation and at least 50% of all property owners assessed valuation of the district to sign to move forward with the district. We have the petition ready but decided in light of the COVID-19 pandemic to wait to go out and ask for signatures. We will be setting up training by our attorney and engineer for petition carriers. If you are interested in being a petition carrier for Water District #6 contact Shannon at 585-591-2455 and we will let you know the time and date of the training session.
